Dr. Amy Kasper isn’t your average eye doc. She’s young, she’s fun, and on first impression of her optometry practice in Cary, you get the overwhelming feeling you just stepped into a boutique eyewear studio (it’s giving Warby Parker meets med spa). I was so excited when she found me on Instagram and asked me to shoot personal branding photography and interior photos for her newly remodeled practice, The Vision Studio. Below, I’m sharing insight on the business branding photography that resulted and how we carried Amy’s vision across multiple sessions.
Dr. Kasper ended up booking my Partnerships Package, which is a year-long series of three full sessions to elevate your brand and social media collateral. We started by mapping out all three branding sessions and creating shot lists to reflect her content needs at the time. During the planning stages for our first photoshoot, we completely reimagined the concept of personal branding imagery for her optometry practice.
We decided to focus in on the patient experience at their office, showing the different rooms, equipment, and processes patients might go through, along with some interior stills of the office for their website. We captured photos of Amy and her staff interacting with a patient, and we also documented the stunning results of The Vision Studio’s full interior remodel.

The Vision Studio was established in 2019, but it actually began in 1980 as Dr. Ira S. Tucker and Associates. The practice was known for its long-standing reputation as a community focused family eye care facility, so when Dr. Kasper joined in 2017, the two doctors merged their passions and experiences. The Vision Studio was born from their shared outlook for the future.
“Today, The Vision Studio offers an unparalleled patient experience. From comprehensive eye exams to selecting glasses from the latest in eyewear fashion, our trained and helpful staff provides personalized care for patients of all ages.“

It’s obvious that a deep dedication to the client experience drove the thoughtful design of this office space. Check out what the space looked like before the reno here. They completely gutted the original office and totally transformed the layout, color palette, and feel of the space. Open shelving lines the perimeter of the office and holds hundreds of pairs of modest as well as designer frames. Carefully placed greenery and potted plants break up the stark white walls, while pops of color in the furniture and upholstery give the office a vibrant, modern facelift. Amy poured her heart and soul into creating a space that was not only warm and welcoming, but also extremely functional for her patients.
For the second session in our Partnerships package, we captured headshots of Amy’s core team, team photos as a group, and a few fun/quirky photos modeling some of their inventory at my Sanford studio location. We also squeezed in several still photos and detail shots of the designer frames they carry at the office for additional brand content.

This headshot and team personal branding session was specifically tailored for The Vision Studio’s website About Page and for social media introduction posts. I came up with some creative shots to incorporate their frames and bring life and interest to an otherwise “sterile” feeling industry. Working with Amy’s team to capture these photos not only accurately represented the brand, but it also gave them some super eye-catching content to draw in potential clients via social.
The biggest challenge we had to overcome during the interior photoshoot at the office was definitely the lighting situation. The overhead lighting wasn’t it; it blew out almost every shot right from the start. To retain as much detail as possible, I used a tripod and a high aperture and shutter combo.
I love the warmth and personality we were able to achieve in these images, both in the photo studio and at The Vision Studio’s office space in Cary. Amy and her team were extremely accommodating and, simply put, straight up fun to work with throughout our partnership.
By far the best part of my small business branding photography projects are the relationships I form with my clients. Somehow, I get lucky enough to meet and work with the best small business owners across The Triangle!
I’m not about to start questioning how or why, but I am excited to start featuring more small business branding photography on the blog.
